Foster Update and Pics! Sunday 12.12

So Frank dropped off Buddy Love and the first day here was tough, he did pull out of his collar (twice) which took me about an hour each time to get it back on. Buddy is steadily coming out of his shell though, he already seems so much more relaxed, he is still pretty scared but he loves the girls, and they play constantly. He even licked my hand today! (AWE!) Ive updated the ALR FB page to show his progress ;) Enjoy the snowy day!

We rec'd the below from the woman who had been caring for and feeding him for more than 6 months. He was dubbed Buddy 'Love' because that was the name of the street he frequented to 'visit' with his friends who delighted him with special treats and toys. We want to thank Mary, her neighbors, his cyber-supporters all of whom generously donated on behalf of this beautiful boy making it possible for us to rescue him. We see a bright future ahead. Stay Tuned.

This is a desperate plea for help dog only has a week.

Please pass on and cross post to anyone that might be able to help. This dog was born about a mile from my house, he is almost a year old now. His mother and siblings were taken by Douglas County animal control about 8 months ago. This dog avoided capture as a puppy and has been fed by everyone in the neighborhood. He lived behind a duplex and I have been feeding him every day for about 6 months. He is very skittish but SUPER sweet and really gets excited over treats and LOVES toys. He jumps and bounds around so excited for attention and anyone to play with him. He will take treats from my hands but not let me pet him (although the Animal Control officer was able to pet him in the truck he was not aggressive, just terrified). I brought him a new toy every week (sometime twice a week). ANYWAY, Animal Control succeeded in trapping him on Saturday. It was the most awful day I have ever experienced! He had been chasing cars and a motorist called not the people that he live with or around. This dog would be a GREAT dog!! He would require some patience and love to make him realize his full potential. He is a yellow lab mix. I dont have any good photos only ones of him being hauled off to doggie jail (his face is bloody and nose scraped up from trying to get out of trap all night when temps were below freezing). He normally looks like a beautiful healthy lab. The animal control officer said he has at least until next Tuesday before they euthanize him. I am willing to pay for full vetting and neuter and adoption fee from pound ANYTHING TO SAVE THIS SWEET DOG.
