Jazz is a Black Lab. She is approx. 8 months old. We got her from a family that were giving away free puppies and at the time seemed like a good idea. Me and my husband were raised around and had dogs as pets growing up and since we were recently married thought we would start our own pet family. My husband works as a Paramedic and I am a Dental Hygienist -- we also volunteer during the week. We didn't realize how much time we did not have for a puppy. Looking back now I wish we would have given the matter more consideration. It is a lesson learned. I feel really bad for Jazz because we don't have the time she needs. We have agonized over this decision for months, going back and forth on whether to keep her.
We installed a fence in the back yard to keep her from the road and away from neighbors, she can slip under the fence. We take her on walks but she pulls and needs more training on the leash and in general. She is a very active and energetic as are all labs so she needs exercise and attention. This past week she took a walkabout. We found her across the busy street at the neighbors house. We are concerned for her safety.
I know she is unhappy and deserves to be with a loving family who has more time to dedicate to her so she can be the best she can be. We are hoping to surrender her to your organization to ensure she has a wonderful life going forward. We just want the best for her and realize we are not it.
Jazz is very sweet and active and loves water! She knows how to sit too. She will be a great pet for someone. We hate to give her up but I know she isn't happy. We owe her a better life than we can currently provide. Please help us and Jazz.
