Nala is a yellow lab rescued by a good samaritan from an unfit living situation. She was chained up with no shade and received very little attention. The woman who rescued her is now her legal guardian/foster. She has been working with Nala on her social skills for the past 2 weeks and she has really come out of her shell! The woman's intent was to save her first and then help her find a new forever home as she already has 3 dogs of her own. That's where we stepped in.
Nala is approximately 8 years old and has been fully vetted. She is very good with cats and other dogs. She has not shown any signs of aggression. She is easy going, very good in the car and enjoys getting baths. She also acts very young for her age, loves to run and play tug of war, but also loves to sleep in front of the sofa. She is both house trained and crate trained, but I do leave her in the house unattended for hours at a time and she does fine. Her previous owners said she was chained up outside because she was crazy in the house and would pee on the floor. None of which was true :( She has had NO accidents and has done NO damage to anything. I was expecting to have to do a lot of training with her, but she has been amazing! Her biggest obstacle was learning to enjoy being petted. She didn't understand why I kept hugging her and petting her, but now she is like velcro :) |
