HELP! We woke up and we're in a Lab Rescue!?!
These two little 25 lb. pups came into our program in a grocery basket about 2 years ago. They were living in a tool shed in a rural part of Georgia and their rescuer was desperate for a better life for them. Being one who can never say no (thats why I have a beagle, weim, doodle and shepherd at my house) I said we would take them. Seven months later they were still bunking in my doggy basement, two chi/beagle(?) mixes posing as labs, but not convincing anyone. Finally that summer they caught the eye of a nice family with two young boys and they adopted them. Unfortunately, bad times hit forcing them to have to move in with family members and leave Buster and Jordan behind.
Alas, they are BACK in my basement and once again buried on a web page full of labs. Theyre taking the adjustment pretty well, but not quite sure what to make of all of the other dogs at my house. Flurry, my long term foster and resident joker, has crossed over to their side of the yard, introduced himself (sniff, sniff) and checked out all their stuff.
As a bona fide big dog person I have to say that I am smitten with these two. They are a constant source of entertainment because they are so gosh darn CUTE! They are also neat and tidy, something Im not familiar with, but a welcome change from the big shedding sluggos that live upstairs with meand did I mention that they give lots of kisses? Im hoping that with our Facebook following we can easily find these two a home this time around. They are crate trained and housetrained and must be adopted as a pair, but the two together barely equal half a lab and we will do a multibreed discount for the adoption fee for the pair. If you are interested in meeting them, please fill out an application or contact us.
Buster is a wonderful dog and companion. Hes cute, loving, playful, and loads of fun. He enjoys belly rubs and basking next to windows in the sun, carrying large dog toys around in his mouth, and running around in the backyard. He does well around most other dogs while out on walks. Overall, hes a great family pet yet Buster is probably best suited to a family with children age 8 and older. |
