Mandy and Oliver were hungry. They appeared, quite suddenly, in a woman's yard who had a feeding station for feral cats. Both dogs were initially weary and scared. While they were hesitant and a bit uncertain, they were clearly not feral, but may have only had each other to rely on for some time. She began to feed them and soon thereafter discovered Mandy's four puppies under her porch...desperate to help, she sought to coax the pups out for vetting and evoke calm in the older pair. She needed help catching these poor souls and became emotionally hooked after seeing Mom walk through her fear to get close enough to check on the baby caught and look up at her with pleading eyes not to hurt her baby.
As it turns out, the dogs really responded well to all the attention, are wonderful and obviously someone's pets at some point in time. All have been completely vetted and according to their Vet, Mandy is likely a Retriever mix and Oliver possibly an Akita / x? Both Mandy and Oliver too (!!!) are completely devoted to these puppies and thankfully, the pups are in good health, completely socialized, possibly spoiled even with so many Moms at their bidding : ) We estimate them to be approximately 12 weeks old. Mandy has come full circle and her shy tendencies have seemed to dissipate - she is friendly, sweet and slightly reserved. Oliver is a love bug - loving his belly to be rubbed especially! This pair appears very bonded and loving of one another. Mandy's precious pups can be seen on their respective pages - please look for: Brandy, Pepper, DeeDee and Alexa!
