As people, we tend to humanize our dogs and trust they live in the moment. With Nell, we felt compelled to shower her with all the love we could muster to make up for any shortfall in her past. On her release date, we simply hoped for the best. Boy, were we in for a surprise! With only three legs, you simply won't believe what she can do! Nell has the sweetest disposition; is attentive, low maintenance, very clean and house trained, nondestructive and plays well with any size dog at the park. And, she runs...really runs! She has little trouble keeping up with true sprinters, this cunning girl simply cuts corners to stay in the game! She doesn't hobble or pogo and likely would excel in agility - she may even prove a 'leg up' on her competition! She is staidly bullet proof - not aggressive in the least, exceptionally friendly and fearless. She meets & greets ALL dogs - big and small and will not back down when growled at whether playfully vying for a toy or greeting a strange dog at the park. Nell has an immediate sense of the 'pecking order' and falls in happily.

She would do very well in a home with children or another dog who still loves to play, and is content to and even entertains herself by playing with homemade toys. Nell loves to cuddle, LOVES people and sleeps through the night - she is a profound sleeper and does not open her eyes when moved but will warn you with an overpowering bark if she hears an unfamiliar noise. So what did we learn? For starters, never judge a dog by its appendages or lack thereof...labels are passe - in her world, she is neither handicapped, special needs or 'broken' - we have learned so much of ourselves in simply knowing Nell. She is an irreplaceable soul with the spirit and spunk of her four legged counterparts. If possible, we simply love her too much.
